Why idolise a man with such a low regard for the truth?
It is obvious from reading letters to The Nation that several readers are fully behind President Trump. My simple question to those people is, how do you ignore his passion for telling lies so gross and obvious that any schoolkid would be ashamed at their transparency.
Last month, Trump appeared on television saying how he knows Matt Whitaker and that he is a “great guy”. Just a few days ago, after Whitaker was appointed acting attorney-general only for controversy to erupt over his past business dealings, Trump again appeared on TV, this time denying that he knows the man.
You have to be either very stupid not to realise that, as president, everything you say is recorded, or you just have a low regard for the truth. Either should deny you access to any high government position. So how can we ignore the situation, deny the videotape and idolise such a blatant liar? Didn’t your mums tell you lying was wrong?
