Freedom of speech does not extend to hurling insults

I wouldn’t mind if Eric Bahrt criticised Thailand in the same manner that I criticise the political situation in the US.
What I mean by this is that I always make it a point not to use such condescending words as “stupid”, “barbaric” or “cowardly” in my letters here.
In my opinion, if we stoop so low in using such slurs, freedom of speech is abused and not appropriately exercised as intended.
