NEW YEAR SPENDING TO TAKE A DIP
The Grassroot Economic Research Centre of the Government Savings Bank forecasts grassroots spending of up to Bt30.2 billion in the New Year season, a drop of an average Bt2,150 per person from last year, in this new year season or average Bt2,150 per head or dropped from last year, the bank’s president and CEO Chatchai Payuhanaveechai said yesterday.
The survey covers people who has earn under Bt15,000 per month and is based on a nationwide sample of 2,150 respondents. Their spending includes intent to draw from their income, savings and loans.
The top three activities for this New Year season are partying, making merit and giving money and gifts to family members.
