The second edition of the Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition is now inviting all would-be musicians to send in their applications and be part of the “Music Power” project that seeks to open opportunities for young people and members of the public to show off their talent.
Created by King Power in collaboration with the College of Music, Mahidol University, the competition is the only one in Asean that’s open to the public.

Winners take it all
Wichayanee “Gam” Piaklin, Napat “Gun” Injaiuea, Jaruwat “Dome” Cheawaram and Warawut “Tum” Poyim – all winners of “The Star” talent contest – in seasons 4, 6, 8 and 9 – are returning to the stage for the 2019 edition of their “Four Pho Dam” concert. Taking place on January 26 and 27 at Royal Paragon Hall on the theme “Oh My God”, the show will feature their individuals songs as well as covers of other artists’ hits.

All about love
Pianist and composer Jakkawal “Neung” Saothongyuttitum will perform romantic love songs with more than 30 artists, among them NewJew, Aof Pongsak, Ae Jirakorn, Mos Patiparn and Pu Anchalee, at the concert, “New Way of Love”, on the beach of Wisdom Valley, Khao Mai Kaew, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri on January 12.

Music in the mountains
British-style music festival “The Hill’s the Life” holds its inaugural edition at Kensington English Garden Resort in Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima, on January 19 at 7pm.
Among the artists taking part are Boonkiet Chokwatana, Setha Sirachaya, Mai Charoenpura, John Ratanaveroj, Odd Khiriboon, Byrd & Heart, Golf Benjaphol and Tuk Yanee. In addition to the music show, it includes an illumination light show, “The Light of Love” with more than one million LED lights at the English-style garden.
Tickets for the light show is Bt200 and free for hotel guests while tickets for the festival are Bt3,500, Bt10,000 including two tickets and one standard room, and Bt20,000 including four tickets and two suites.

Pai gets the beat
Jive Garden – an annual music festival organised by Warm Up Cafe Chiang Mai – is back for its thirteenth year at Thung Yao Viewpoint in Pai, Mae Hong Son province.
Taking place on January 19 starting at 6pm, the festival will feature multiple stages and a lineup of Thai artists and bands that includes Pongsit Khampi, Urboy TJ, Max Jen Mana, Ready Puch, Bosz, Tondave, DJ Pauly, DJ Bomber Selecta, Fishmonger, and Gang Bang DJ.
