Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana recently presided over the “Great Artists Concert Series 2019”, the first major concert of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra’s (RBSO) 2019 season, which featured a programme entitled “Romantic Variations” with French violin soloist Fanny Clamagirand.

The programme at the Thailand Cultural Centre was organised by Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation in cooperation with Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture and supported by co-sponsors B Grimm, Bangkok Bank and Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS).
Among the guests were Thanpuying Pharani Mahanonda, Khunying Dhipavadee Meksawan, ML Ubolwadee Jayankura, Nualphan Lamsam, Dr Chaweerat Kasetsoontorn, Mom Chailai Yugala, and Sompan Charumilinda.

Clamagirand showed her talent on Saint-Saens’ stunning “Violin Concerto No 3 in B minor opus 61”. The RBSO’s music director Michel Tilkin was the conductor for the programme, opening with Tchaikovsky’s turbulent and passionate “Romeo and Juliet” overture and finishing with Elgar’s ground breaking “Enigma Variations opus 36”.
The multi-awarded French violinist has firmly established herself as an artist of great distinction on the international stage and is considered to be one of the finest of her generation.
To make the classical music accessible to all, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra continues to perform 30 concerts throughout the year. Keep updated at www.BangkokSymphony.org.
