Sarawut keeps Thai flag flying in Tour of Thailand 5th stage

Sarawut Sirironnachai of Thailand Continental Cycling Team caused the biggest stir for Thailand so far in the “Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’ Cup Men’s Tour of Thailand 2019” after he won the fifth stage on Friday.

The national cyclist also won the Best ASEAN Rider of the stage on the route of Phayao to Lampang with the distance of 167 kilometers.

Sarawut who finished at second place of the King of Mountain timed 3.54.36 hours to win the 5th stage. He also took the second intermediate sprint ( IS2) with the same time.

However in the overall category, Aussie Ryan Cavanagh of ST George Continental Cycling Team is still in the lead with a total time of 21.23.53 hours.

In addition, Thailand Continental Cycling Team still dominated the “Best ASEAN Team” for the fifth day with combined time of 65.28.45 hours followed by Terrengganu INC TSG Cycling Team and  7ELEVEN CLIQQ-AIR21 BY ROADBIKE from the Philippines.

The final stage of the Men’s Tour of Thailand 2019 will start at 09.00am on Saturday from Lampang to Chiang Mai with the distance of 116 kilometers.
