REVENUE DEPARTMENT TO REVISE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Revenue Department under the Finance Ministry will revise an announcement that saving account depositors, due to receive interest payment not over Bt20,000 a year, can ask the bank to submit related documents to the Revenue Department on their behalf for a tax waiver on the interest amount.
The new announcement will do away with the need to contact the bank, however those who do not send the information to the department directly must contact the bank, the department's spokeman Pinsai Suraswadi said yesterday.
The department believed that the directive would have an impact on depositors due to receive interest and it will announce a revision in two weeks, ” he said.
