Rockers Alexandros come to town

Japanese rockers Alexandros make their Thai debut this Sunday (June 30) in the concert “Sleepless in Bangkok” at Moon Star Studio 1 starting at 5pm.

The J-rock quartet, featuring Yoohei Kawakami on vocals, Hiroyuki Isobe on bass, Masaki Shirai on guitar and Satoyasu Shomura on drums, kicked off their “Sleepless in Japan” tour before heading to China and are slated to play in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and South Korea.
Their latest album and the inspiration for this tour, “Sleepless in Brooklyn”, features “Arpeggio” and “Your Song” that are used as the insert and theme song for PlayStation 4’s upcoming game, “Project Judge” or “Judge Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigon” starring top Asian star Takuya Kimura.

Alexandros’s “Pray” is the official theme song for the Japanese version of “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”. The song is described as a “rock ballad illustrating the notions of human love” which befittingly reflects what emotional strengths the protagonists need when facing the hardships that the film’s plot presents them.
“Mosquito Bite” and “Milk” are the theme songs for the “Weekly Shonen Jump” anime adapation of film “Bleach” featuring Miyavi as Byakuya Kuchiki. The film will be out in Japan on July 20.
Back in 2010, the Japanese rock band debuted as Champagne and was quickly recognised as one of the up-and-comers of Japan's indie music scene. By 2013, they’d scored a trio of Top 20 hits: “Forever Young”, “Run Away”, and “starrrrrrr” in collaboration with GEROCK.
The following year, the quartet changed their name to Alexandros and made a second debut in 2015 with ALXD, their first album after signing with major label Universal Music Japan. The electric “Wataridori” was the first single and amassed more than 72 million views on YouTube.
The band won Best New Artist at the 2016 Japan Gold Disc Awards, Best Rock Artist at the 2016 Space Shower Awards, and took home the Best Rock Video award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Japan for the technotinged “Swan”.
Tickets costing Bt2,600 and Bt3,800 are on sale at Thai Ticket Major outlets. Call (02) 262 3456 or visit www.ThaiTicketMajor.com.
