Ampverse opens office in Thailand in Singapore to develop gaming talent

Gaming and esports media company, Ampverse has arrived in Southeast Asia and aims to develop top gaming talent and create partnership opportunities with brands, game publishers and agencies.

Southeast Asia is home to one of the most dynamic gaming ecosystems globally. The Southeast Asian gaming market is set to grow 22 per cent this year to $4.6 billion, reflecting one of the fastest-growing gaming regions in the world. The number of Southeast Asian gamers is forecast to rise to 400 million by 2021, with over 250 million of those players on mobile devices alone.
The influencer and entertainment company was founded by some of the region’s most prominent business leaders across media, esports and gaming. Co-founders Ferdinand Gutierrez, Charlie Ballie, Matthias Beyer and Surasak Winij will lead the business supported by several strategic advisors including Rob Gilby, former managing director of Walt Disney SEA.
Based in Bangkok, Ferdinand Gutierrez will serve as Ampverse chief executive. He’ll be joined by Chief Content Officer, Matthias Beyer and Surasak Winij will serve as Vice President Content.
Based in Singapore, Ampverse’s Chief Commercial Officer, Charlie Baillie is the former managing director of RhythmOne.
The business will operate across three distinct units, designed to galvanise and nurture a powerful community of gaming and esports influencers and then create attention-grabbing, entertainment formats with brands:
Ampverse Influence - An extensive portfolio of top esports influencers with tens of millions of followers, generating over 500 million monthly views.
Ampverse Talent - Representing the commercial interests of top-tier gaming and esport talent, offering talent management and development in order to help them realise their full potential.
Ampverse Publishing - A creative studio focused on building unique creative formats and co-branded intellectual properties with brands.
“There is a real disconnect between the size and influence of gaming communities, and the level of investment brands are making in gaming and esports,” said Gutierrez. “Ampverse is determined to develop Southeast Asia gaming and esports talent, championing the growth of the ecosystem whilst at the same time helping brands navigate the space to create meaningful and innovative content that speaks directly to gamers.
Ampverse is launching in Thailand and Singapore with plans to rapidly roll out across Southeast Asia in the coming months having recently closed their seed fund raise from strategic gaming & entertainment investors in Southeast Asia.
