GSB launches new products to promote saving

The Government Savings Bank (GSB) has launched a new current account system offering 0.5 per cent annual interest for individuals and 0.37 per cent per year for juristic persons, as well as a “GSB Free Chequebook” campaign, under which overdraft borrowers and juristic entities who open an account with a deposit of Bt10,000 will be provided a free chequebook. The offer runs from September 10 until the end of the year.

Chatchai Payuhanavychai, GSB director, said that as a state-backed financial institution, GSB’s mission is to promote saving habits among individuals and juristic persons.
“Our latest product – the ‘Current Plus’ account – offers individual clients and juristic persons 0.5 and 0.37 per cent interest per year respectively. The ‘GSB Free Chequebook’ campaign runs until December 30 only,” he said.
He added that juristic entities that open an account with a deposit of Bt10,000 and over will be entitled to a free 20-page chequebook. “Individuals who have been approved for overdrafts will also be given a free chequebook,” he said.
