State agencies ask for Bt1.36 trillion to revive economy
State agencies have asked for a staggering Bt1.36 trillion to revive the virus-battered economy, said National Economic and Social Development Council secretary-general Tossaporn Sirisamphan.
The Cabinet has earmarked Bt400 billion for state agency-run projects designed to lift the country out of the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 outbreak. The Bt400 billion is part of the Bt1.1-trillion economic stimulus package.
Tossaporn added that the subcommittee tasked with screening the projects is expected to finish its preliminary analysis of the projects on June 26. The results will be sent to the project screening committee on July 1.
He said that the committee was expected to pass approved projects on to the Cabinet for consideration on July 8.
