Bhumjai Thai poised to fight election: Supachai

The Bhumjai Thai Party on Wednesday announced its readiness to compete in the general election, saying it aims to become the main party in forming the government.

The party’s registrar Supachai Jaisamut said the party will nominate its leader; Anutin Charnveerakul, as a sole candidate for the next premiership.
The Constitution allows each competing party to nominate three candidates for the premiership.
“We have been ready for a long time to race in the election and we have policies to solve the country’s poverty and other problems,” he said.
He was speaking after the expected royal decree ordering a general election was issued today.
The constitution calls for the Election Commission (EC) to announce a date within five days.
The party said it would field its candidates in all constituencies as well as those for the party list members.
Supachai added that the party welcomed any election date set by the EC.
