Led by renowned Cantonese opera performer, the two performances attracted about one thousand audiences in Thailand. The Bangkok ETO also invited guests from the Thai Government and business circle to the shows. With full-house attendance, the unique charm of Cantonese opera mesmerised the audiences and the response was overwhelming.
Speaking at the event, Director of the Bangkok ETO, Mr. Parson Lam, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Law and the Ying Wah Chinese Opera for bringing a cultural feast to Bangkok. He noted that Hong Kong does not only have a deep-rooted Chinese cultural tradition, it also enjoys the unique advantage of being a place where Eastern and Western cultures converge. With the support of the National 14th Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong is committed to developing itself into an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange. The Bangkok ETO will continue to collaborate with the culture and arts community to showcase Hong Kong's outstanding art works and talents abroad, tell good Hong Kong stories, and promote Chinese culture.
