Khao Yai luxury project cleared of encroachment charge: developer

THE owner of a luxury residential project near Khao Yai National Park in Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, says it has won a nearly two-year dispute with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation over alleged encroachment on parkland.

A special committee had been set up by Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister, to look into the case following a complaint by the company.
Phuphobfah Co told a news conference yesterday that a ruling had dismissed the department’s encroachment allegation against The Creston Hills luxury project and cleared the company of wrongdoing.
“It has been a very stressful time for us, but it has been worth our determination in proving that our title deed and land were properly and legally acquired and that the disputed 1.98 rai of our land does not encroach on the national park as claimed by the Department of National Parks,” said Nipon Pinsrisirirat, executive director of Phuphobfah.
He said the case should never have occurred, and the company had lost sales opportunities valued at more than Bt1 billion during the dispute period. However, its reputation is priceless, so it had been worth the fight, and he said he hoped the positive ruling would encourage other property owners to stand up for their rights.
“We are confident that potential buyers will return and be even more confident in our development,” he said.
The Creston Hills project commands a total land area of 200 rai (32 hectares), and only 57 plots are available.
Nestled in a valley surrounded by lush green forested hills, the development offers a selection of four American contemporary style homes to those who are looking for a vacation or retirement home to build on their plot of land, which are selling for Bt65,000-Bt75,000 per square wah (Bt16,250-Bt18,750 per square metre) depending on size.
The firm says the development also provides a gated community, with amenities including a supermarket with fresh products from local farms.in the Khao Yai area, boutique handicraft shops, and restaurants.
