Zhejiang, China, will bring 83 Zhejiang based innovators and export enterprises to feature advanced and quality Zhejiang products and solutions at three shows including Secutech Thailand 2019, Thailand Lighting Fair 2019, and Thailand Building Fair 2019. The shows are held concurrently from 28 – 31 October 2019 at Halls 104-105 of the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC). Under the concept “Smart City Solutions Week 2019”, the event is projected to attract more than 15,000 visitors this year.

Ms. Liang Lu, Special Representative of Trade development Division of Commerce Department of Zhejiang, gives some background about Zhejiang that Zhejiang (浙江) is an eastern coastal province of China. Its capital and largest city is Hangzhou. Zhejiang is one of the richest and most developed provinces in China, a home to e-commerce giant Alibaba (BABA.N).

According to the state news agency Xinhua, Zhejiang has pledged more than $17 billion to drive the tech industry and innovation in the coming five years. Xinhua reported that Zhejiang’s provincial, municipal and county-level governments would spend 120 billion yuan ($17.5 billion) in the next five years to “boost up high-tech and internet companies as well as medical research and development”. As part of the plan, the province introduced 50 measures to boost the tech sector including increasing the ratio of R&D spending in provincial GDP, cultivating leading innovators and increasing patent numbers.

Smart City is also parts of the plan. One of Hangzhou’s Smart City Projects includes the “City Brain Project” in 2016. Government officials partnered with tech companies Alibaba and Foxconn to inaugurate the City Brain project, to transform Hangzhou into a city that monitors and responds to its own problems immediately and efficiently.

Ms. Liang comments on the promising cooperation between Thailand and China that Thailand is one of the highlighted countries in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) which is a global development strategy adopted by the Chinese government involving infrastructure development and investments in 152 countries and international organizations in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.

In December 2017, China and Thailand began the construction of a high-speed railway that links the cities of Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima, which will be extended to Nong Khai to connect with Laos, as part of the planned Kunming–Singapore railway. The facts are all showing the positive cooperation prospects between Thailand and China in several levels and scopes.

Secutech Thailand 2019, Thailand Lighting Fair 2019, and Thailand Building Fair 2019 under the concept “Smart City Solutions Week 2019” will be held concurrently from 28 – 31 October 2019 at Halls 104-105 of the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC). The event has been supported by the Zhejiang Department of Commerce in organizing the Zhejiang International Trade (Thailand) Exhibition 2019 and the Zhejiang Smart City Pavilion which are undertaken by Zhejiang SAMEXPO Exhibition.

With the total of 83 companies on the large space of over 2,000 square meters, the Zhejiang Pavilion will be divided into five industry scopes: Security, 14 companies; Fire Safety, 20 companies; Smart Lighting, 25 companies; Building & Electricity, 6 companies; and Smart Home from 18 companies.

The event will also be hosting an onsite business matching service allowing buyers and exhibitors to find suitable partners through meeting and learning about each other's products and demands.

“Thailand has been one of the leading countries in ASEAN in terms of economic development. With the official launch of its national strategy Thailand 4.0, which will be served with a showcase by Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), critical infrastructure and industrial projects are expecting new technology solutions to Thailand. Key parts of Thailand 4.0 emphasize “security, wealth and sustainability.” To echo it, this year’s event will position itself as a platform of “Security + AI–Empowers Sustainable City Development.” To help key buyers, government officials and project decision makers have better understanding of the available advanced solution, the shows recruit technology leaders from Zhejiang and other regions in the world under one roof, expecting to attract more than 15,000 visitors”, Ms. Liang added.

“In terms of industrial sectors, Smart Factory and Safe Building are the two focused vertical markets of our shows. So we are inviting visitors of property developers, system integration engineers, industry parks, factory,

retail, and hotel owners, along with the Fire departments of key infrastructures such as airports, seaports, industrial estates and so on. They will be able to find suitable fire protection and safety solutions at the shows.
