Thanyakorn Fires a 66 for Three Way Lead in Laem Chabang

A relaxed Thanyakorn Khrongpha carded an error free 66 to take a joint lead along with Peradol Panyathanasedh and Worrasorn Suwanpanang after the first round of the Bt3 Million Singha Panasonic All Thailand Championship at the Laem Chabang International C

Playing alongside his favourite player Udorn Duangdecha, winner from the previous circuit of the All Thailand Tour in Khon Kaen, Thanyakorn said he was having a great time at the par 71 7,020 yard layout which resulted in an error free day.

“He is a funny guy.  It’s fun talking to him during a round. I always love to play with him,” said the 26-year-old Thanyakorn who during his amateur year was taught by Udorn.

“I have a week break from the Japan Tour and decided to play a home event. The condition is more difficult in Japan so I feel more comfortable playing in this tournament. But it’s quite windy which makes it hard to control your shots,” added Thanyakorn current No 10 in the Japan Tour Order of Merit.

After making a hat-trick in 2013 by winning three Thai PGA Tour titles and ended up No 1 in that year, Thanyakorn has yet to lift a home title again. Besides he has never won an All Thailand Tour event after seven years as a pro golfer.

“I would love to win my first All Thailand title and a good start here looks promising. There are still three days to go,” Thanyahorn said.

Also with a 66 were 27-year-old from Phitsanulok Peradol who fired six birdies against a lone bogey on the eighth hole and 22year-old Worrasorn Suwanpanang from Surat THani who also had six birdies and a bogey.

Seven players including young gun Danthai Boonma, Womer Murillo or Venezuela and Ye Htet Aung of Myanmar  followed a stroke behind with 67 for the joint fourth place.
