Thailand win table tennis mixed doubles and women’s rugby sevens

Thailand won the fourth and fifth gold medals from the on-going SEA Games from table tennis mixed doubles and women’s rugby sevens in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

Top pair Suthasini Sawettabut and Padasak Tanviriyavechakul beat Yu Mengyu and Pang Xuejie of Singapore 8 -11 11-9 11-6 11-8 for Thailand’s first Games table tennis mixed doubles gold in 32 years after Manop Kanthawong and Kwanta Kumutpongpanich won this event in Bangkok in 1985.

At the Petaling Jaya Stadium, the women’s rugby sevens team won the fifth gold for Thailand following a 17-10 win Singapore 17-10 in the final.

Earlier golds of Thailand came from men’s chinlone event 1, women’s water polo and men’s sepak takraw regu team.
