Zico resigns from Port after 3 months

Port FC manager Kiatisak Senamuang resigned from his position on Wednesday after his side suffered its sixth defeat in 10 Thai League games under his supervision.

The Port went down to Chonburi FC 1-3 on home turf at the Pat Stadium which prompted the former national coach to quit his job with the team after just three months. He stuck to his words after saying earlier he would leave the team if they faced one more defeat.

“I said I would take responsibility if we fail to get three points. As a professional, I have to stay true to my words,” the 44-year-old former national striker.

“Actually the players have the potentials. But we have to admit that every team in the league is tough. I took this position without having time to work with the team in the preseason, so it’ quite risky. I just have to show my responsibility as the fans expected so much from me.”
Kiatisak said he would take a break first before taking a new offer from other teams. It's been a miserable year for the former football star who also resigned from the national team in March following dismal results of Thailand in the World Cup Qualifiers.
