Over Bt153 million awarded to SEA Games, Para athletes
A total of BT153,545,000 million incentive money were given to national SEA Games, Asean Para Games medalists and their coaches at Government House yesterday.
Thailand won 72 gold medals, 84 silvers and 88 bronzes from the SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur in August. Prime Minister Prayuth CHan-o-cha and Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul took part in the reward presenation ceremony yesterday.
According to the Sports Authority of Thailand’s criteria, a gold medalist will receive Bt200,000,while Bt100,000 and Bt50,000 incentive money will be awarded to silver and bronze medalists respectively.
For coaches, they will receive 20 per cent of what they athletes receive.
Para athletes produced 68 gold medals, 73 silvers and 95 bronzes. Bt100,000, Bt50,000 and Bt25,000 rewards were given to each gold, silver and bronze medalist in respective while their coaches received 10 per cent of the money.
