An estimated 100,000 players join Singha Football League

The  ‘Singha Football League 2017-2018’ kicked off on Wednesday all over the country with over 100,000 applicants aiming to win a chance to train at English Premier League crowning champions Chelsea’s training ground.

Bhurit Bhirombhakdi, Managing Director of Boonrawd Trading Co.,Ltd., presided over the press conference which was also attended by Ed Connock, Head of Global Activation at Chelsea FC and Mr. MonchaiChokepaiboonkij, Managing Director of Football Thai Sporting Goods Co.,Ltd. and members of Hua Jai Singha Football Stadium Club,  at the  the grand auditorium of Singha Corporation.

The event which is Thailand’s biggest 7-a-side football league offers a total prize money of over Bt10 million.

Mr. Bhurit said that ‘I’d like to thank the members of over 500 Hua Jai Singha Football Stadiums for making this possible and also turning this into one of Thailand’s biggest and most prestigious competition with over 5,000 teams. This year we have a surprise gift from both Singha Corporation and Chelsea FC that the winning team will be the first team ever in the world that get to train at Chelsea FC’s training ground which have never happened before. I hope that Singha Football League will continue to be exciting as ever and entertain everyone with a football match to remember.’

At the event, Mr. Ed Connock also mentioned that ‘Singha Football League is Thailand’s biggest and also most successful footballing event, evidenced by the increasing amount of teams applying for the competition. Also it is the only competition that Chelsea FC sponsors internationally and this year, we’ve worked with our partner, Singha Corporation, to open our training ground ‘Cobham Training Centre’ for the winners of the competition to train and learn the Chelsea way of football exclusively with our staff coaches and trainers.’

Singha Football League, first held back in 2009, will host a knock-out competition with qualifying stages starting today and will compete in 14 regions all over Thailand as follows; 2 December 2017, Bangkok -Pathumthani region at Saimai FC Stadium, 9 December 2017, Bangkok-Nonthaburi region at Winning7 Stadium, 16 December 2017, Bangkok-Samutprakan region at Soccer Pro Bangna Stadium, 23 December 2017, Bangkok- Meenburi region at Grand Soccer Pro Stadium, 6 January 2018, Bangkok – Samutsakorn region at Grand Ballon D’Or Stadium, 13 January 2018, Northern region at Mahanakhon Chiang Mai FC Stadium, 20 January 2018, Upper-Central region at The One FC Stadium Saraburi, 27 January 2018, Lower-Central region at Park Arena Stadium, 3 February 2018, Upper-Northeastern region at SS Premier Stadium Udonthani, 10 February 2018, Lower-Northeastern region at Dodeden Arena NakhonRatchasima, 17 February 2018, Upper-Southern region at TX Park Stadium Phuket, 24 February 2018, Lower-Southern region at Sport Arena Stadium Songkhla, 3 March 2018, Upper-East region at Sriracha Arena, 10 March 2018, Lower-East region at Boh Win Arena Stadium Rayong, with 32 teams will compete at Grand Soccer Pro Stadium at 24 March 2018.
