Striker Sarayuth calls it a day

Former national striker Sarayuth Chaikamdee announced his retireฌment yesterday on his personal Facebook page.

The 36-year-old from Khon Kaen, dubbed as “Five Yards Joe” by the media as most of his goals came within the five-yard- box, had been a professional for 15 years.

His achievements included winning the Thai League in 2010 with Thai Port, winning the 200607 King’s Cup and the SEA Games gold medal in 2003. 

"I'd like to thank everyone including the clubs I used to play for, the media and the fans for all your support. I'd like to end my professional career as a football player as of now," he wrote her his Facebook.

He also wrote that he would become a new football coach soon.
