Police shut down ‘battle of the sexes’, threaten prison

Florida Police rushed to the site of a planned mixed martial arts (MMA) match and threatened those involved with imprisonment if they went ahead with it.

An MMA veteran and pioneer, Tara LaRosa, had flown down from Detroit to take on internet troll Kristopher Zylinski after he had said that 99 per cent of men could wipe the floor with 99 per cent of women through sheer biological power.
A martial arts centre had been booked and several thousands dollars had been raised for LaRosa’s flight and expenses but three hours before they were due to battle it out, the state athletic commission contacted police and asked
for the event to be called off.

Zylinski, LaRosa and organiser Robert Ingram broadcast to Facebook Live, in particular to address fans frustrated the match had not taken place and explained the cancellation.

“I don’t know what the problem was. I’ve sparred with men for years,” said LaRosam.

Zylinski added: “I’m up for it anywhere, any time."

“I want this to go ahead so bad,” said Ingram. “But I’m not willing to do prison time for it.”
