Ratchanok books third straight semi-finals
Hot shot Ratchanok Intanon toppled Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong 21-11 21-11 to reach her third successive semi-finals in the the Super 500 level during the India Open on Friday.
The Thai ace who has won the Malaysia Masters and reached the last four of the Indonesia Masters on her way to New Delhi had no problem with tackling the world No 34 whom she had beaten 12 times before.
The world No 4 Thai will next face top seed P.V Sindhu of India in the Saturday’s semi-finals.
In women’s doubles, second seeded Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai beat Jakkampudi and Poorvisha S Ram of India 21-10 21-15 eighth-seeded Kittipak Dubthuk and Natcha Saengchote went down to top seeded Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen of Denmark 11-21 13-21.
