Citi Visa offers chance to see World Cup in Russia 

CITI VISA Credit Card is offering its members the chance to win free all-inclusive trips worth Bt5 million to watch the upcoming World Cup, which will take place in 11 cities in Russia from June 14 to July 15.

Citi Visa members can win a lucky draw to witness the quarter-finals (four prizes), semi-finals (one prize) and final (one prize) by spending Bt1,000 or more per receipt (from February 15 until April 30). Each prize includes two return tickets (business class for the Grand Prize (the final) and economy for other prizes), and four-night accommodation plus meals.

However, card members can earn five chances by spending the equivalent amount overseas in foreign |currencies or online in foreign currencies.

For Citi M Visa members, two prizes (for the round of 16) are up for grab for every purchase of Bt1,000 or more per receipt at all The Mall Group department stores.

The draw will be held on May 18 while names of the lucky winners will be announced on May 31. To participate in the campaign, all card members must complete a one-time registration via SMS from February 16 to April 15.

“Citibank hopes that our lucky card members will enjoy this special experience in this exclusive trip,” said Vira-anong Chiranakhorn Phutrakul, consumer business manager of Citibank Thailand.

In terms of the readiness of the host preparation, Russian ambassador Kirill Barsky said Russia was upbeat to host the year’s most-awaited sporting event.

“For the first time in history, games will be played in the 12 best stadiums in 11 cities spanning from Kaliningrad in the West to Yekaterinburg in the East and from Saint Petersburg in the North to Sochi in the South,” said Barsky. He said there were four |special aspects of this World Cup edition.

“First, those with World Cup tickets are granted a free visa. Second, fans who register online for Fan ID cards will get privileged treatment including free travel from one city to another during the Cup. Also, for the first time VAR technology will be used in the World Cup, and last but not least visitors will be impressed with the Russian culture, architecture and hospitality,” Barsky said.
