World champion makes his Marc as Buriram impresses star riders

The 24-year-old Honda rider had a best lap time of 1 min 30.9 seconds after his first 78-lap test of the track where he will return in October for the country’s first-ever Ptt Thailand Grand Prix.
Dubbed “the Ant of Cervera”, the four-time world champion is here in the Kingdom along with 23 fellow MotoGP racers from 12 teams to test their bikes and accompanying systems before the season’s opening race in Qatar next month.
Marquez has been in Thailand for a few days and had positive thoughts about the venue which will be the 15th stop on the 19-race calendar this year.
“The circuit is quite a challenge for me. There're several things that I like as they suit my style. I believe I can produce good results here,” said Marquez, who has won four out of the last five world championships.
His teammate and fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa clocked  1:30.960 min after 75 laps to be fifth quickest after day one.

Cal Crutchlow of LCR Honda Castrol 

British rider Carl Crutchlow of LCR Honda Castrol stole the show by timing the fastest lap, 1 minute 30.8 seconds, followed by Alex Rins of Suzuki Ecstar.
Meanwhile Newin Chidchob, chairman of the Chang International Circuit, said riders from the 12 teams taking part in the Winter Test were satisfied with the conditions and had reached speeds of up to 330kph.
“They said everything about the track is impressive except for the weather, which was too warm for them. However, it’s a good opportunity for them to check which tires and gasoline are suitable under these conditions,” Newin said. 
He also expected the riders to try to go even faster on Saturday.
