Pedrosa sets the pace in Thailand Winter Test

Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda set the fastest record of 1:29.781 minutes at the Chang International Circuit as the Winter Test concluded on Sunday in Buriram.

The 32-year-old Spaniard raised the bar during the 77th lap before he finished his practice in the following lap. His mark of one minute and 29.781 seconds was the fastest at the circuit this week. 

 French monsieur Johann Zarco of Monster Yahama Tech 3 followed at second with his best time of 1:29.867 minutes. The third position of Sunday’s session three belonged to Briton Cal Crutchlow of LCR Honda Castrol after his best attempt of 1:30.064 minutes.

Pedrosa’s teammate and current world champion Marc Marquez, who produced the best time on Saturday, settled at fourth with 1:30.143. The Spaniard who celebrated his 25th birthday in front of thousands of fans on Saturday collapsed during his practice on Sunday but had no injury.

The Winter Test serves up as a major preparation for Thailand before hosting its first MotoGP, the PTT Thailand Grand Prix, at this venue in October.
