Top 100 beckons for victorious Luksika
Thai No 1 Luksika Kumkhum has won back-to-back titles, beating the Canadian Bianca Andresscu 6-3 7-6 (7-3) in the final of the US$25,000 Kashiwa Open in Japan on Sunday.
This latest triumph comes only a week after Luksika claimed her first title of the year in Kofu, also in Japan, and the current world No 103 is expected to return to the top 100 when the new rankings are updated on Monday.
This was her eighth title in the US$25,000 or higher ITF event. The Thai has no plan to play in any clay tournament in Europe except the French Open next month.
Her next outing is a 125K WTA event in Zhengzhou, China, which starts on April 16.
