The 65-year-old, who won for the first time in 2016, beat Sitthichai Nimnual by 198 votes to 190 during the annual general assembly meeting attended by 384 voters (five abstained while seven ballots were invalid).

Methee said his policy would focus on grooming more professional golfers for the global arena by staging three local tours: Thailand PGA Tour, Thailand Development Tour and Senior Championship Tour.

“Around Bt31.6 million will be allocated to organise professional tours all over the country and support pro golfers,” said Methee, who will serve a four-year-term.

“Thai golfers are second to none. By receiving more support, they can improve to become competitive on the world stage,” he added.
