Club champions of 15 countries and club members and businessmen from 20 countries all over the world will participate in the event, which will be held for the first time in Thailand, the leading destination for tourism and golf in South East Asia
US GOLF Magazine has selected Ayodhya Links among the Top 100 Courses in the World this year. It is the only golf course in South East Asia to get such a high rating. Ayodhya Links is one of the most exclusive courses in Asia and ranked No 76 in the Top 100 list. Therefore, it came as no surprise that the World Club Championship Committee has picked Ayodhya Links to host the premier amateur golf tournament, “AMAZING KINGDOM OF THAILAND: WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2016”.
Mr. Pitak Intrawityanunt, President, Ayodhya Links, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said the Club and the country are honored to get the opportunity to exhibit its potential in sport tourism and organization. “This is a great chance to show our guests from 15 countries our magnificent golf course. We are honored to welcome all of them to Ayodhya Links from December 3 to 9. Besides golf, they will be charmed by the rich art and culture of the Kingdom and the stunning natural attractions this great country provides,” he said.
To impress the participants, the organizers have planned a few selected activities that will showcase the rich cultural heritage and history of Thailand. The players will get a glimpse of some of the finest Thai traditions, foods and attractions of the two capitals of the Kingdom – Ayutthaya and Bangkok.
“Ayodhya Links, with its magnificent surroundings, provides a tough challenge to golfers. Designed by Peter Thomson, each hole has a unique layout unlike any other golf course. The club members will love to play on the course. The course is in exceptional condition with immaculate yet fast-paced greens. The world-class services and hospitality rivals any other course in the world and shows why Ayodhya Links is appreciated by all golfers and is a part of the Top 100 in the World list,” Mr. Pitak said.
Mr. David V. Smith of the World Club Championship Committee said he was happy that Thailand was chosen to host “AMAZING KINGDOM OF THAILAND: WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2016”.
“Thailand is one of the world’s most desirable tourist destinations with its splendid environment, fine culture and traditions, and their world-famous hospitality. The World Club Championship is a first-class competition with a rotating host venue each year handpicked from the Top 100 Courses in the World. In 2016, we are honored to select Ayodhya Links, which will welcome golfers who are businessmen and members of the clubs, alongside club owners from 15 countries worldwide during the Championship week,” said Smith.
The 2016 World Club Championship will be a joint effort across many sectors to showcase the business potential to businessmen, who participate in the event. The event will be broadcast to 120 million households in USA and Canada, and also to 40 countries worldwide in order to promote Thailand’s art and culture, traditions and tourist attractions besides highlighting the fact that it is one of the major destinations in the world for golf.
“AMAZING KINGDOM OF THAILAND: WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2016” will take place during His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 89th Birthday Celebrations and also on the auspicious occasion of the 70th anniversary celebration of HM The King’s accession to the throne.
