Riders give World Superbike C’ship a capital boost

Two high-profile riders, Germany’s Stefan Bradl and Dutchman Michael van der Mark, on Wednesday went around “Rattanakosin Island” on a tuk tuk to promote the second race of World Superbike Championship at Chang International Circuit in Buriram this weekend.

Competing in his maiden World Superbike campaign with the Red Bull Honda team, Bradl, the former Moto2 champion, is one of the riders to watch when Chang International Circuit hosts the world-class race for the third year in a row, starting from tomorrow until Sunday.
The 27-year-old German and Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK team’s Van der Mark were given a treat by Chang International Circuit managฌing director Tanaisiri Chanvitayarom in the run-up to the race as the two went on a tour of the capital’s historical area, Rattanakosin Island.

Joining the pair on tuk tuk around the inner city area was home rider Thitipong “Tingnote” Warokorn, who also served as the tour guide. Starting at Ananda Samkhom Throne Hall, the journey took the trio past several of the city’s historical attractions such as Wat Benchamabophit or the Marble Temple.
The sightseeing activity ended at Khaosan road where the trio were given the opportunity to ride the tuk tuk themselves before they went to visit Sports Authority of Thailand governor Sakol Wannapong to thank him for his support to motor sports in the country.
