Over 2,000 participants join Ayutthaya Kizuna Ekiden run

The first “AYUTTHAYA KIZUNA EKIDEN 2017”gathered over than 2,000 runners to join relay running event in order to strengthen relationship between Thailand and Japan 130th anniversary.

The 4 teammates relay running “AYUTTHAYA KIZUNA EKIDEN 2017” with the collaboration between Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mainichi Newspaper, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting from Japan and Bank of Ayudhya, was honored by Gen. Tanasak  Patimapagorn, Deputy Prime Minister, presided over as well as Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports and Mr. Shiro SADOSHIMA, Ambassador of Japan in Thailand were participating the event. There were 450 teams or more than 2,000 people together in a commemoration of the 130th Anniversary of Japan –Thailand Diplomatic Relations at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park.

Beyond 1 team

The winner was the team from “Beyon1”, besides that, Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports was joining as a runner of team “Ayutthaya”

AYUTTHAYA KIZUNA EKIDEN 2017” There should be 4 teammates for each team which must be included Thai and Japanese. There are totally 450 teams participate to overcome 13.6 Km. Moreover, the runners can enjoy with the nice atmosphere along the side of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park and local scene. The race will be universally timing by RFID Race Timing chip system and use Finish Time as the standard. Any teams can be able to pass the finish line 1-10 will receive an overall winner prize and all runners will receive a unique. This relay running was interested from both Thai, Japanese and foreign runners.

The results:

·       The winner team                   Beyond 1                                Finish time 51.42 Minutes

·       The second place                Toyota 2                                 Finish time 55.20 Minutes

·       The third place team Toyota 3                                 Finish time 58.00 Minutes

Gen. Tanasak Patimapagorn, Deputy Prime Minister, said “this year is a special occasion of commemoration of 130thn year anniversary of Japan – Thailand Diplomatic Relations, hence we decided to arrange relay run “EKIDEN” which original running from Japan at the world heritage place of Thailand – Ayutthaya. By this activity, Japan will be broadcasting live in Japan to propagate the beautiful of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park. This will be useful in supporting historical and cultural tourism as well as strengthen a reputation for Thailand

Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, were sharing about the success of this activity “this was an occasion of commemoration of 130thn year anniversary of Japan – Thailand Diplomatic Relations that were happening at Living World Heritage. This activity would be a good start sport to lead to tourism. Hopefully, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park, Ayutthaya province will be a Dream running place

There were a lot of super stars joined this activity such as Pancake-Khemanit Jamikorn’ said “it was a enjoyable run to strengthen the relations between Thailand and Japan, the runners would not only enjoin with running also atmosphere of the world heritage” and ‘Thun-Nitcharee peneakchanasak’ Optimistic girl joined the running with wheel chair was sharing her impression “I was impressed this special event. I would like to invite both normal and disabled people to exercise. The body of the disabled could not be a barrier if it has already stepped out. We always get smiles and encouragement.
