The national boxing team’s campaign in the Asian Games ended in disappointment after Thai last hope Sudaporn Seesorndee lost to South Korean Oh Yeonji 1-4 in the women’s lightweight gold medal bout on Saturday.

Sudaporn’s loss meant Thailand won no gold medal in the 18th Asian Games after five male boxers lost in the semi-finals on Friday.

With one gold from the women’s sepak takraw quadrant team in the morning, it appears that Thailand will finish the Asiad with 11 golds as the sports extravaganza concludes on Sunday.
