COUNTRY SINGER and political activist Thanat Thanawatcharanon, known by his stage name “Tom Dundee”, has been acquitted of a lese majeste charge for a public speech he made in Lamphun province in 2011.

Representatives of the father of student activist Jatupat “Pai Dao Din” Boonpatraraksa have petitioned the Royal Thai Police chief, asking him to look into the possible withdrawal of a police request for the court to revoke Jatupat’s bail, which has led to his detention since last December.
