AN ALTERNATIVE proposal for a railway link from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore that would upgrade the present infrastructure will only cost the Malaysian government 20 billion ringgit (Bt163.7 billion) – much lower than the high speed rail (HSR) project that was put at between 60 billion ringgit and 70 billion ringgit.
