Simalungun, Indonesia - Among the grief-stricken Indonesians keeping a daily vigil at the shore of a volcanic lake which swallowed a ferry packed with people, some fear they have lost more than a dozen relatives, including children, in the disaster.

Riko Sahputra, one of the survivors of the boat accident on Lake Toba, recounted that everything was fine when the Sinar Bangun ferry departed at 5 p.m. from Simanindo Port to Tigaras, Simalungun, North Sumatra, on Monday afternoon.
