A 17-YEAR-OLD stateless schoolgirl’s Thai citizenship has been fast-tracked after it came to public attention that her lack of citizenship would deprive her of an opportunity to participate in an academic contest in New York.

Three Mathayom 1 students at Wattanothaipayap School in Chiang Mai have won the World Robot Olympiad Thailand junior championship and are ready to represent the country at the international level at a competition in Costa Rica in November.
