Thailand’s Excise Department plans a single cigarette tax rate and a pay-first, refund-later system for exports to reduce price distortions and curb illicit tobacco.

I have heard rumours that the Thai government now wants to charge foreigners who live in Thailand tax on the money they have already earned and/or bring into (wire transfer) the country to live on. So far I have been unable to locate any newsworthy articles relating to this rumour.
