Seeking to ease more Thai drivers in behind the wheels of electric vehicles (EV), SAIC Motor-CP Co Ltd, MG Sales (Thailand) Co and the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) have become partners in significantly boosting the “ecosystem” for a fast-growing phenomenon.

The launch of the MG’s ZS EV car in Thailand this month will mark a new era for the Chinese-Thai joint venture SAIC Motor-CP as it seeks to capitalise on two major trends – electric and smart vehicles.

MG gained the leading position in the subcompact SUV market in February, with sales of its ZS model reaching 1,139 units that month.
