Authorities’ response to pro-democracy protests has been out of proportion and has done severe damage to the reputation of both the government and the monarchy it vows to protect.

The Appeal Court on Saturday upheld the lower court's decision to deny bail to three leaders of the pro-democracy protests -- Panupong “Mike” Jadnok, Panusaya “Rung” Sithijirawattanakul and Parit "Penguin" Chiwarak.
