From the Malaysian Grand Prix to a German beer blow out in Hong Kong, there’s something for everyone next month

F1 PETRONAS MALAYSIA GRAND PRIX
September 30 to October 2, Selangor, Malaysia
The Malaysian leg of the Formula 1 Grand Prix season gets underway this weekend at the Sepang circuit and offers exciting cluster of side events including a demo run, auto carnival, fan engagement programmes with the drivers, and a spectacular post-race concert. Family-friendly activity at the circuit includes the popular X-track showcasing motorsports-themed thrills such as drifting, rallying, go-karting, ATV rides and more for fans of all ages.
 
BORNEO INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL (BIKF)
September 28 to October 2, Bintulu, Malaysia
Borneo International Kite Festival 2016 returns to the seaside town of Bintulu today. Held on the windy tarmac of Old Bintulu Airport facing the South China Sea, the conditions are ideal for kite flying. Expect 400 kite enthusiasts from 25 countries to participate in this festival. Various cultural performances take place in the evening. 
 
THE BOROBUDUR WRITERS AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL
October 5 to 8, Yogyakarta, Indonesia
This year the Borobudur Writers and Cultural Festival (BWCF) will feature scientific discussion about ancient scriptures that relate to eroticism and religiosity. There’ll also be photo and painting exhibitions, workshops, arts performances and a discussion between writers and the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) with the aim of creating an Indonesian writers association.
 
ANDONG MASK DANCE FESTIVAL
September 30 to October 9, Andong, South Korea
Korean traditional mask dancing goes on show at this remarkable event in Gyeongsangbuk-do province. Launched as a two-day event back in 1997, the festival now runs for 10 days and features troupes from all over Korea plus international masked dancers. The unique cultural festival will be held between the mask dance park and the centre of the Andong Hahoe Folk Village, which is well known for its preserved traditional houses that were inhabited by yangban (aristocrats) during the Joseon era.
 
HONG KONG TENNIS OPEN 
October 8 to 16, Hong Kong
More than 50 of the world’s best female tennis players will compete in singles and doubles for prize money of USD 250,000 at the iconic Victoria Park Tennis Stadium in the heart of Hong Kong. 
 
MARCO POLO GERMAN BIERFEST 
October 21 to November 12, Hong Kong
