Let Traveloka put you on Japanese holiday train

Southeast Asian digital travel-and-lifestyle platform Traveloka continues to strengthen its commitment to Thailand by offering the Japan Railway Pass (JR Pass).

Japan continues to be one of the top destinations for Thai users and the JR Pass, which covers 4,900 kilometres in 18 prefectures – including Kansai with its multiple attractions – promises a more enriching travel experience in Japan.
Traveloka and its partner JR West are distributing JR Passes on its app, becoming the first travel booking platform to provide them digitally in Thailand.
“Japan is Thais’ most popular spot for a vacation in a country that doesn’t share a border with Thailand,” says chief executive Caesar Indra.
The Japan National Tourism Organisation says more than a million Thais visited in 2018, including many travelling to more than one destination – and preferably by train.
“With a large number of Thai visitors to Japan choosing the Japan Railway network, it becomes important for us to provide convenient and easy booking,” Indra says. “Japan Railway is the perfect partner, enabling out users to select their preferred pass based on their requirements and anticipated itineraries, such as JR East, JR West and JR Shikoku.”
Eligible for travel throughout Japan with time periods that vary from seven to 21 days, JR provides a more affordable and efficient travel option, not just for JR-owned and -managed rail lines but also some bullet trains, buses, monorails and ferries.
The cost of a JR Pass can be recouped in just one return trip from Tokyo to Kyoto.
