Locals come together to make merit on Songkran Day
Locals wearing brightly coloured floral shirts gathered in Chachoengsao province on April 13 to participate in a merit-making ceremony by offering dried food to 100 Buddhist monks.
They poured scented water over the Buddha Sothon statue for people to pay homage and seek blessings during the Songkran festival.
They also collectively poured water to bless the elderly, bringing them auspiciousness.
