Patting junta on the back is like talking up Capone
A lot of people praise the military for cleaning up beaches and getting rid of food stalls and hawkers.
Now we have beautiful beaches and David Brown doesn’t have to tiptoe over the garbage anymore. The coup wasn’t quite a waste after all.
Praising the junta is self-serving. It’s like praising Al Capone for supplying alcohol during Prohibition. Drinkers didn’t care how many Capone had killed as long as booze kept flowing.
