Pro-military party now top dog – and attracting all the fleas

It’s no surprise that the pro-military Palang Pracharath Party is so attractive, drawing potential MPs like a rotten carcass drawing blowflies. Here’s why.

Pheu Thai and the Democrat Party are like a dying dog, with its fleas and ticks desperately emigrating towards a fresh body. If Pheu Thai win and are able to form a government, I’m sure there is going to be “Shut Down Bangkok II”, followed by a coup. As for the Democrat dog, the poor thing is still groping in the dark with its eyes closed and going nowhere. That leaves Palang Pracharath as a sure bet. Of course, there won’t be a coup under a pro-military government, and with the backing of 250 junta-appointed senators, the government will comfortably last for at least eight years. That is going to be a big blow to the opposition MPs. The late PM Banharn Silpa-archa once lamented, “Being in opposition is like starving.”
Like they say, “If you can’t beat them because you didn’t fight dirty enough, join them.”
