Prediction: 2019 will not be a good year for Prayut
The National Anti-corruption Commission (NACC) has decided not to pursue the case in which Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan had in his possession more than 22 undeclared luxury watches, believed to be worth more than Bt20 million.
This being the case, 2019 will not be an auspicious year for Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
If he decides to continue as prime minister after the general election, it will be like becoming captain of a ship that has a huge hole in its hull. It cannot go far on the high seas.
Rumours of corruption are a terrible thing in politics.
