On environmental issues, the time for action is now
The worst fears about global warming, often presented as academic papers or in fashionable business-forum “talks”, are now here in Bangkok with us, through the smog of pollution choking us and threatening our lives.
Some people discuss sustainability as though it’s a distant goal. The time has come to stop talking and start taking action. At the industry level, we need real-time action to reduce pollution. At the civil level, we need to take small, iterative and sustainable steps to reduce waste, recycle waste and use materials that can be safely disposed.
The drama of this theatre of heat, pollution, strife and suffering is approaching epiphany now, in January 2019. Where will we be in December 2019?
