Show us the evidence that China has imprisoned one million Muslims

Show us the evidence that China has imprisoned one million Muslims

I nearly laughed my pants off reading Michael Setter’s letter echoing Paul’s fantasy that any pro-Chinese government writers are likely secret agents.

If Prasan Stianrapapongs is a Chinese secret agent then Paul, who doesn’t disclose his full identity, could well be working for the CIA while Michael Setter acts as his affiliate at MI6.
The root of any false accusation either stems from ignorance, bigotry or an intention to cause damage to others.
We live in a world where the media are used by many countries as a tool to feed false information to their people, often as a pretext for military action (weapons of mass destruction in Iraq) or economic sanctions against other countries (Iran is threatening its neighbours).
Even worse, the media brainwash the people by publishing false information. Americans who find it entertaining to watch the “Late Show” believe that Donald Trump is a criminal and Russians are devils because Stephen Colbert repeats the same jokes and allegations each and every night.
History will eventually give a verdict on the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown (which mainstream media use as a tool to discredit the Chinese government), or on a similar incident that happened in 1932 in America, when General Douglas MacArthur ordered soldiers to attack World War I veterans protesting in the capital, on Pennsylvania Avenue. Let history tell our future generations whether the communist Chinese government has brought prosperity or devastation to modern China.
Prasan Stianrapapongs is simply telling readers of his experience of China’s policy on Muslim Uighurs. Paul and Michael are free to tell their side of the story, with facts. Opinion forums like “Have Your Say” can improve readers’ knowledge by printing letters with evidence, not just those that smear other writers with allegations that have no proof or evidence. Even CNN and the BBC are backing away from the allegation that China is detaining one million Muslim Uighurs in concentration camps, which is completely baseless but unfortunately has been reported on several occasions.
Perhaps Michael Setter can cleanse his vindictive desire against China with more frequent visits to Bang Saen beach in Chon Buri, and let the sea waves wash away the hatred in his head together with the garbage on the beach.
