A woman was killed after crashing into a company bus head-on while apparently trying to avoid crushing a snake on a Chon Buri road early on Tuesday, police said.

The accident happened on Rong Poh Takian Tia road in Tambon Takian Tia of Chon Buri’s Bang Lamung district.

The woman, Paenghom Mai-ngam, 45, was killed in the driver’s seat of her Toyota car.

Seven workers in a company bus were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.

The bus driver told police that he saw a car in the opposite lane suddenly cross into his lane, as the driver seemingly tried to avoid something. A crushed snake was found on the road.
