BKK as top leisure destination: Survey

Bangkok was voted Best Leisure Destination in AsiaPacific and ranks third for 'Best Business City in Southeast Asia', as part of the 20th Business Traveller AsiaPacific Travel Awards.
Three properties in Thailand are also leaders in their respective sectors. These are The ShangriLa Hotel Bangkok - voted Best Business Hotel in Bangkok; The Ascott Sathorn Bangkok - winner of the Best Serviced Residence in AsiaPacific award; and Banyan Tree Phuket - the sole winner of Best Resort Hotel in AsiaPacific.
The award presentation ceremony was held at the Conrad Hong Kong on September 9.
The selection of award winners is based on the results from the yearly Readers' Poll conducted during April and June and interpreted by Synovate. Business Traveller AsiaPacific's subscribers were asked to fill in the poll forms, and the response rate was 19.87 per cent. The results will appear in the October 2011 issue of the magazine.
