SCB campaign to boost SME loans

Siam Commercial Bank is boosting SME loans in the final quarter of the year with a new campaign, allowing clients to borrow five times the appraised value of their collateralised assets to a maximum of Bt10 million. The borrowers, with annual sales of Bt10 million to Bt75 million, are offered a maximum repayment period of seven years.
The bank is confident that the campaign will boost new SME loans by Bt3 billion in the current quarter. Sirichai Sombutsiri, a senior executive vice president, said new SME loans would hit Bt50 billion by the end of the year, bringing outstanding loans to Bt210 billion. That would represent 30-per-cent annualised loan growth.
